Alice Liddell Is Coming Back To RPGs (And You Should Check Out Her Gaming Work!)

I wanted to open this week's Moon Pope Monday post off with a disclaimer. Alice is my partner, and she publishes most of her RPG content through Azukail Games, which is the same publisher I work with for a great deal of my supplements. However, over the past several years these Monday posts have become a place where I like to shout out fellow creators who need eyes on their work, and who are having a tough time reaching an audience who needs what they're creating.

And if I didn't think Alice's work wasn't great I wouldn't be telling all of you to go check it out. All right? All right. Let's get into it!

Seriously... this title alone is the length of a full NOVEL. You get your money's worth.

But before I get into the meat of today's post, remember, don't forget to sign up for my weekly newsletter to get all my updates right in your inbox. Also, if you've got a bit of spare cash that you'd like to use to help keep the wheels turning, consider becoming a Patreon patron! Also, be sure you're following all of my followables, check out my LinkTree.

Lastly, for hundreds of extra articles on gaming, weird history, and for more free fiction, check out my Vocal archive, too!

So Who Is Alice (And What Does She Make)?

For folks who've never seen Alice's name before, she's an author, a Twitch streamer, and a YouTuber. She's got over 30 titles published for her fiction (I'm biased, but I'd absolutely recommend Succumb to Darkness for folks who like gothic vampires and the French Revolution), and you can check out her channels KHR Arts where she primarily hosts her cozy gaming streams, and Alice The Author where she gives folks a peek behind the curtain and explains the business side of being an author.

And as if all of that wasn't enough, she's making a comeback to RPGs in the near future!

You know, in the COPIOUS amounts of free time she had...

While she's got a laundry list of fresh supplements she's currently working on (I don't want to spoil too much before they're ready), I did want to give her previous work a shout-out, and encourage folks to go grab copies of it for their tables. Because she puts a lot of thought and craft into her supplements, and it's hard as hell to reach an audience these days.

So, check out the following if you haven't yet!

- 100 Stat Boost Potion Recipes: Her longest, most intricate title, this alchemical recipe book goes deeper than more RPGs need... but it is great for inspiration, worldbuilding, and just plain fun!

- 100 Dangerous Plants: Alice's bestselling title, which reached Electrum a while back, this is another great thing for GMs to make their worlds (and encounters) a bit more fun!

- 100 Witches: An NPC list that covers witches of all sorts and stripes, there's inspiration for allies, antagonists, and everything in between in this one!

- 100 Flowers and Trees Sure To Boost Your Stats: A perfect companion to the first entry on this list, this supplement is also a less-expensive title if the price tag of the potion recipes makes you balk a bit.

- 100 Avian Beasts: The odd duck out, pun very much intended, this one hit Copper status, but has had trouble climbing higher. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the market for some inspiration for your bestiary.

That's all that Alice has available for RPG supplements for the time being, but since I have your attention, consider subscribing to her channels, and watching some of her videos. She's been battling the algorithm on YouTube forever, and it would be a huge boon if she could get one (or both) of her channels monetized. And, best of all, the only thing you have to do in order to make that happen is to click a button!

We're all about supporting one another in this community, so please, check out some of Alice's work and help her keep her bills paid while she works on getting some fresh content to the presses!

Help Owen K.C. Stephens Roll His Save Against Cancer (And The Healthcare System)

While some folks in the RPG community may not know Owen K.C. Stephens by name, chances are good they're still familiar with his work. A major hand on Pathfinder and Starfinder, he's made content for games like Star Wars Saga, Fantasy AGE, Savage Worlds, 13th Age, and more over his many years in the field. Chances are good that if you went through the books on your shelf (or the PDFs in your folders) that you'd find his name in the contributor section for a lot of stuff you've played over the years.

While he's been a recognizable name, though, he'll also be the first to tell you that nobody who works in the RPG field is paid well... some of us might be paid well for RPGs, but that's not the same thing. And when you wind up having to fight cancer, well, that's when you need all the help you can get.

For someone who has given us so much, let us return that aid in a time of need.

Call The Banners!

Back in February, Owen suffered a pulmonary embolism, which as you'd imagine sent him to the hospital. And while he was in the hospital he was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. Now that's a rough 1-2 punch for anyone, but it's also important to remember that we're talking about the American healthcare system, here. That means that each day in the hospital still costs thousands of dollars after insurance, and he was in the hospital for several days before he was able to go home again.

While Owen still intends to keep making games and creating lovely toys for all of us to use, it's times like these when a designer could really use the support of the community.

And there are several ways we can make that happen.

And get some great games in the bargain!

If you're on most social media accounts, you've probably seen Owen's Medical Bills Bundle #1, and Owen's Medical Bills Bundle #2 by now. They were getting a lot of attention in the Drive Thru RPG hottest offers, and the response to them was pretty good overall. And if you're looking for a way to help Owen cover his bills so he can come out on top of this situation, grabbing both of them is a great way to do that.

Between the 2 bundles there's over 180 PDFs for a dozen systems, as well as system agnostic content you can use in your games. The estimated value is over $1,500 for all of this stuff put together, and you can get both bundles for around $70 total (or $34.95 each). Pathfinder, Starfinder, DND 5E, 13th Age, Savage Worlds, Shadow of The Demon Lord, Shotguns and Sorcery, setting books, GM tools, and a slew of other stuff that will make your head spin, and all of it available for a ridiculously low price to help out a good cause.

That's not all the options, of course.

But if you've already grabbed the bundles, or you're wondering what else you can do to help, I wanted to give a few additional options, as well. So if you want to go above and beyond the call of duty, consider:

- Follow Owen on Twitter (yeah, it's falling apart, but a replacement has yet to take its place)

It might not seem like much, but as someone who's been in this profession a few years myself, it does make a difference. Even if you can only afford to give a little tip every now and again on Patreon, or you just act as a regular participant and commenter on social media, if a lot of people all do that, it really does add up when all is said and done.

If You're a Gamer Who Hasn't Checked Out GMS Magazine Yet, You Really Should!

It's Monday, and I'd like to take a break from my general advice pieces that have become the norm here to boost the signal on someone else's project. Because a video recently came out that I'd forgotten I was waiting for, and it just made my day.

Which is why I'd suggest everyone check out both Five Ways To Be a Better Ambassador For The RPG Hobby, as well as the channel that produced it GMS Magazine!

Regular readers might find the content familiar, for as the host points out this video is largely inspired by my article 5 Things You Can Do To Be a Better Ambassador For Your Hobby. What most folks might not know is that I'm a regular contributor in a Facebook group Paco Jean runs, and that's where our paths crossed. When I shared my article he mentioned he should do something in a similar vein, and I told him I looked forward to it.

Still, it put a smile on my face when the video finally dropped!

Support Creators, and Check Out GMS Magazine!

If there's one call to action I echo pretty regularly it's that creators out there need your support if they're going to continue doing what they do. Without an audience our numbers plummet, we can't get paid, and that means we stop making content. And you can never have too many people reading your blogs, watching your videos, listening to your podcast, etc.

While I haven't watched every video on the GMS Magazine YouTube channel, I have enjoyed most of what I have watched (even the stuff that doesn't talk about me!). So I thought I'd take this Monday to do what I could to boost a fellow creator's signal.

All of us need every bit of support we can manage. Especially these days, with everything so turbulent and fractious out there!

Also, speaking of supporting creators, don't forget to sign up for my weekly newsletter if you want to stay on top of all my fresh content. And, if you've got a bit of spare dosh, consider becoming a Patreon patron, as that's the way I really keep the landlord from sniffing round my door!
